The Filmstar Bronze & Glow palette from Charlotte Tilbury is quite a splurge, but it’s truly a delightful indulgence. I’ve been using it for several years, and lately, I can’t seem to do without it. Just this morning, I applied it simply to run a quick errand to Sainsbury’s! The palette brings a touch of glamor and has a very satisfying effect. Although it’s officially labeled as a contouring duo, the bronzer is a bit too warm for precision contouring. Instead, it’s best used in a soft, blended way, delivering a more natural and flattering glow than those harsh lines often associated with typical contouring products.
I still follow the basic contouring routine—applying bronzer under the cheekbones towards my ears, along the temples, and beneath the jawline, with highlighter on the spots that catch the light. However, I prefer a more laid-back application. I lightly brush it on and blend everything together to achieve a lovely, understated glow. Depending on how much I build up the color, the palette offers two levels of glam. With a light application, I achieve a healthy, sun-kissed look, reminiscent of a relaxed getaway. A heavier application results in a polished, magazine-cover-worthy finish, much like iconic images of Gisele or Rosie H-W.
The palette is impressive because the bronzer’s warmth adds life to dull, winter skin while also providing some shadow—without giving a full-on optical illusion contour, which many people prefer. The highlighter has a champagne hue with golden undertones, complementing the bronzer for a warm and convincing look instead of a stark, frosty one.
Filmstar Bronze & Glow deserves a spot in my imaginary Hall of Fame. Although there are many imitators, none that I’ve tried match its unique brilliance. The powders are fine, silky, and blend effortlessly, making the cost worthwhile. It’s a go-to product when you’re prepping for a night out—something you’ll never want to leave behind on a holiday.
Charlotte Tilbury’s palette comes in two shades—light/medium and medium/dark—available on their website and at Feelunique for £49. It’s a fantastic contender for a Christmas wish list, with its festive, golden packaging and Hollywood style. If you’re into creating a high-shine, polished skin look, this is a must-have.
