Welcome to this week’s shopping focus: nude court shoes. I need them to complete my key spring outfit, which includes a faux-leather Karen Millen skirt paired with a wrap blouse, a Hush cashmere sweater, or a soft marl t-shirt. These nude, or beige, shoes are incredibly versatile, complementing everything from stonewashed jeans to cocktail dresses. They’re as essential in a wardrobe as the little black dress.
When it comes to picking the perfect nude shoes, I have a few must-haves: they shouldn’t be too high because, since having the baby, my ankles struggle with high heels. I prefer a slender heel and a non-patent finish, with a pointed toe ideally. Although, I did explore other styles thanks to my friend Rach, who kept sending me tempting links.
Let’s start with my top pick – the Floret shoes from L.K. Bennett in soft nappa leather. These are absolutely perfect: the heel height is flattering yet comfortable, and the beige leather tone is sophisticated. They’re a chic, smart neutral and I just love them. They’re priced at £175.
Jimmy Choo’s Agnes suede pumps nearly made it to the top, but I’m worried I’d ruin them in a day. My previous experience with suede was unfortunate as I stepped into a notorious London puddle. Despite that, these shoes are undeniably elegant. You can admire them on the Jimmy Choo website, where they are priced at £395.
For a more budget-friendly option, ALDO offers suede pumps that are better suited for navigating puddles. They might not be as sleek but they sport a pointed toe and stiletto heel in a lovely bone shade. They’re available online for £65.
Let’s take a slight detour to mention Dune’s woven open-toe shoes. According to my friend Rach, they have a very Chloe-esque vibe. The heel on the Claudette is a bit higher than I’d usually manage, but they’re worth a little discomfort. They also come in a deeper shade.
Staying off-course, Coach’s pumps bring a classic pointy-toe court a touch of edginess. On a side note, I’m really impressed with Coach’s customer service. They resolved an issue I had with a Christmas gift excellently. Their beadchain pump in “beechwood” is priced at £225.
Lastly, there are the Melanie almond-toe court heels in suede. I know suede isn’t the best choice for London’s rainy streets, but there’s something so soft and appealing about them. I’d definitely invest in a good suede protector for these. The Melanie heels are available online for £50.
