I know, using “partying” as a verb can be cringeworthy, kind of like “holidaying.” I had it printed on a Milly NY t-shirt that said “Sorry for Partying.” I wish I had time to actually party; lately, the closest I’ve come is enjoying a couple of glasses of red wine at my local Turkish restaurant. Not exactly a wild time, especially when you’re in muddy jeans with dog treats in your pocket.
From dog walking, I transitioned to the fashion scene, rushing across London to attend the Burberry Prorsum Autumn Winter 2014 show. These events are always very British-cool and impeccably organized. For this outfit, I chose a beige theme with some prints and toned it down with a casual t-shirt. My new favorite shoes are from LK Bennett, the Jennie black and white courts. I’ve received so many compliments on them that I’m thinking of getting another pair just in case anything happens to them, though it feels a bit over the top.
I snagged the skirt in a Topshop sale for just seven pounds! It’s so tight that I have to take little baby steps, which led to some builders humorously asking if I’d had a long night. It’s perfect for tucking in shirts or t-shirts and looks just as great with a chunky knit sweater.
Then there’s the Burberry satin trench, which I bought a year ago and have only worn once because I was terrified of getting it dirty. It’s been kept wrapped in tissue, hanging next to my wedding dress in the spare room wardrobe. Now, I’ve finally gotten over my fear, so I think it’ll get more wear. Does anyone else hold on to prized items for so long that they risk going out of style or no longer fitting?
You can see my whole look in full vivid color with a soundtrack, too. There’s also a makeup tutorial included—a basic glowing skin and shadowed-eye style, which complemented my muted, beige theme. Plus, you’ll find snippets from the show, featuring trench coats made from teddy-bear material and a wobbly clip of Bradley Cooper sitting in the front row. Enjoy!
