Want to take a peek into my spring makeup bag? It’s not as dramatic as it sounds! I tend to keep my makeup consistent throughout the year. So, if you’re looking for spring-themed pastel shades, you might be let down. I’m not a fan of the usual seasonal trends like pastel lipsticks or eyeshadows in light blues and yellows, just as I skip the autumnal reds and oranges. They just don’t flatter me, regardless of the season.
I know it’s popular to “experiment with makeup” and try new shades, but I’ve found what works best for me. With my background in modeling and beauty writing, I’ve tried countless looks. I don’t see the need to test out wild colors, like bright green eyeliner, which just isn’t my style. Most women prefer a look that simply enhances their natural beauty.
That’s why my makeup staples rarely change. Of course, I make minor updates when I find amazing new products or learn better application techniques. But my go-to style remains the same—you’re not going to catch me doing an elaborate eye look just to run errands!
So, what’s new this season? Let’s dive into my updated picks. Let’s start by recognizing long-standing favorites. If a product stays in my bag for a long time, it’s worth mentioning. Lancome’s Teint Idole Care & Glow is my top foundation choice. It offers medium coverage with a fresh, glowing finish—not too shiny, but just right.
I use Kevyn Aucoin’s Stripped Nude Tint even more. It’s my daily go-to unless I’m going on camera, in which case I choose something with more coverage. This tint offers the perfect blend of a tinted moisturizer’s light coverage and a foundation’s smooth finish. It minimizes imperfections while keeping your skin tone even.
As for new additions, I’ve started using Sweed’s Miracle Powder in Medium-Light. It’s a powder foundation that feels creamy and adds a major glow to the skin. Perfect as a setting powder over a tinted base, it enhances coverage and shine without being too heavy.
For budget finds, I love the e.l.f. Camo Blush in Peachy Pink and Revlon’s Colorstay cream eyeshadows in Praline and Caramel. Both deliver gorgeous results without breaking the bank. The blush gives a glossy finish, while the eyeshadows have a smooth texture that stays put.
My lip routine hasn’t changed much. I line my lips subtly and fill them in with a soft, luscious color. I’m currently using Sweed’s Le Lipstick in Gabriella Beige Tan over Rare Beauty’s liner—easy to apply and long-lasting.
For bronzing, I’ve relied on a stick from the same brand for a few years now. I use it to effortlessly contour my face—it’s quick and flattering.
