It seems like we’re having a lipstick-themed week, with first the Chanel Jumbo Crayon and now the L’Oreal Colour Riche Shine making an appearance. I rarely come across formulas that I want to use repeatedly, so I’m sharing these recommendations while they’re on my mind.
I’ve talked a lot about L’Oreal’s Colour Riche Shine lipsticks over the past few months. They’re incredibly juicy, with impressive pigmentation and a beautiful, non-sticky shine. I was so taken with my peachy-coral shade (247, Shot of Sun) that I went to Boots and bought three more shades. This is unusual for me, given that I already have a lot of lip products waiting to be tried, but I just couldn’t resist!
What I loved most about the Colour Riche Shine lipsticks was their balm-like texture – so soft and tempting that you want to keep applying them. The vibrant colors were a pleasant surprise for such a shiny and smooth product.
However, these lipsticks are not for those seeking long-lasting wear. If you need four, eight, or twelve hours of durability, you might want to look elsewhere. But if you’re after a low-key gloss without any hint of stickiness and desire comfort from your lipstick, this one is perfect.
The closest comparison I can think of is YSL’s Rouge Volupté Shine. It provides a finish similar to a lightweight oil on the lips. While Rouge Volupté Shine is the luxurious choice, with its gorgeous packaging, Colour Riche Shine is not far behind. The packaging is lighter (plastic) but still chic, and the shades are quite similar.
My favorite Colour Riche Shine shade, 658 “Topless,” is a pretty good match for my favorite Volupté Shine shade, 47. The L’Oreal option has a touch more mauve, but both are that lovely pinky-neutral shade I prefer for a simple, polished look.
You can find the Colour Riche Shine lipsticks at Boots for £8.99 each. If you want to see shade 247 in action, check out the video showcasing its sexy summer vibe with a peachy hue and a hint of golden shimmer.
