You might think it’s an odd topic for a video, but I really love wearing parkas in winter. In fact, I wear them in spring and autumn too—probably around a hundred days a year. However, a lot of parkas these days have this cheap look with shiny fabrics, poor-quality zippers, and terrible faux-fur on the hoods. I’m particularly fixated on the faux-fur trim; it amazes me how some brands make coats that look like they’ve sewn roadkill to the hoods!
After trying a ton of parkas, I finally narrowed it down to five favorites featured in the video. I didn’t consider the price when choosing, but luckily there’s a good mix—ranging from £40 to £315. I’d gladly wear any of these this winter, and I’ve been especially loving the ones from Hush and Topshop.
The Topshop Premium Parka is fantastic, with its soft, plush fur that lines both inside the coat and the hood. Given that it’s priced under £100, the quality is just amazing. The Parka London coat is more of a winter coat with a fur trim than a traditional parka, but it’s absolutely beautiful. The faux-fur is so thick that when the hood is up, you almost need a periscope to see anything! If you want something a bit more sophisticated than a regular parka, this would be perfect. The rich faux-fur gives it a very glamorous touch.
Check out the video and let me know which parka you like best! You’ll also get to see those fabulous Topshop boots in use, along with the Whistles t-shirt I mentioned recently. Enjoy!
