I spent most of my filming time for this October Favorites video fussing with my hair, trying to make sure it didn’t make me look like a character from Cluedo. After a lot of effort, I decided to pull my hair back so I could focus on discussing my favorite beauty products, instead of being distracted by my appearance in the camera’s flip-out screen. Without this distraction, I didn’t have to worry about looking like a Cluedo character or a medieval figure named Phillip, a horn-player from Henry VIII’s court named Barrington, or an Elizabethan poet named Randall.
This video includes some lengthy talks about retinols and shower gels that are gentle on sensitive areas. I edited out some of the more excessive parts because the video was getting too long, but there’s still enough in there to keep you entertained for a few minutes. On the brighter side, I’ve discovered some fantastic beauty products this month—skincare that really shows results, an affordable nail polish that lasts impressively long, and an all-in-one makeup palette that I actually like.
