During the summer, I usually wear flip-flops, but this year I have a few garden parties to attend, so I’m on the hunt for the right pair of shoes. They need to be wedges because stilettos are not practical for lawns or decking. I also want them to be fairly high but not so much that I risk injuring myself if I lose my balance. I’m looking for shoes in brown, beige, or neutral colors because I envision a seventies theme for these events. Plus, I don’t want to spend too much since they’ll probably only be worn a handful of times before ending up at the back of my closet.
Then I came across the Wish Buckle Espadrilles at Topshop. While the name isn’t exactly appealing to me—I’ve got a bit of a thing about the words “buckle” and “wish”—these shoes fit the bill. They have a seventies vibe, are easy enough to walk in, and are reasonably priced at £42. The photos I took aren’t the best, as I was working with poor lighting, but you can find clearer images online. The Wish wedges come in several shades; I chose tan to go with my planned outfits, though I’m also fond of the pastel options.
