Let’s take a moment to appreciate my new tracksuit. Yes, a tracksuit. I’m wearing it sincerely, embodying a true homebody lifestyle. I was drawn to this particular Adidas piece when I spotted it on a mannequin at JD Sports. And no, I don’t usually shop there; I was just making a return. It was the last one available, and I watched as a group of slightly annoyed staff disassembled the mannequin, nearly hitting me with one of its arms in the process! This tracksuit was originally priced at £110—can you believe it? Back when I last bought a tracksuit, in 1988, it wasn’t even me buying it—it was my mom! It was a shell suit with turquoise, pink, and navy. Ah, the memories. Surely tracksuits shouldn’t cost more than £30 these days?
Anyway, I’m really enjoying lounging around in my new tracksuit, which was a “bargain” at £55 according to the sales assistant, along with my cashmere slippers. Mr. AMR suggested I try a ‘Croydon Facelift’ to finish off the look, but he’ll just have to wait. You can only commit so many fashion missteps in a day!
Speaking of my tracksuit, I must say I do like the pants—they resemble ballet warm-up pants. They’re extremely comfortable. But then again, so are a sack or a duvet cover, and I’m just one step away from that, I swear.
