I’ve been sticking with a skincare routine that’s really kept my skin looking fresh and lively, even with all the stress and tiredness over the past few months. I’ve indulged in quite a few Mint Magnums, but the little changes I’ve made seem to have done the trick. Oh, and taking Vitamin D daily has definitely helped my skin, hair, and nails. I started with Vitamin D tablets at the beginning of the lockdown, but once the sunny weather hit, I found myself outside much more, so I wasn’t as consistent with the supplements. Still, the boost in my skin from vitamin D is always noticeable since I usually run low.
So, here’s the routine I’ve been following. It includes a range of products, both budget-friendly and high-end options, for each step.
My Skincare Routine for Spring 2020:
Morning: Cleanse, use an antioxidant, and apply moisturizer with SPF.
Evening Night 1: Cleanse and apply retinol.
Evening Night 2: Cleanse, use a hydrating serum, and finish with a rich moisturizer.
My morning routine is pretty straightforward since I don’t usually have time for anything fancy. It typically goes cleanse, then serum, then moisturize, and since I’ve been outside a lot, I always add sunscreen to the mix. I’m currently enjoying the Curel Foaming Wash as my cleanser. For antioxidants, I use Paula’s Choice Triple Algae Pollution Shield.
In the evening, I switch between two routines. After a good cleanse with a balm, done twice for thoroughness, I either use my retinol product or focus on hydration. This ‘hydration sprint’ involves a hydrating serum followed by a rich cream, making my skin look plump and juicy.
That’s basically it. I occasionally use glycolic peel pads and the odd face mask, especially when I wind down with a bedtime herbal tea.
