There’s nothing quite like one of my seasonal makeup bag videos to signal the changing of seasons. You could almost set your clock by them! Although, to be honest, I never actually manage to release these videos at the right time.
This somewhat late makeup installment is dedicated to autumn, even though today started with frost covering the lawn, making it feel more like winter. Speaking of which, when exactly does winter start? I always thought it spanned November, December, and January, but that would absurdly make February a spring month. So, November must still be autumn, right?
I could’ve looked this up beforehand, but I guess I wanted to spark a little debate or contemplation. After a quick Google search, I discovered that winter officially starts on December 22nd. What?
That doesn’t seem right, and after delving deeper into this, I stumbled upon a range of dates related to solstices, meteorological terms, and hemispheres. Astrologically, winter starts on December 22nd, but meteorologically, it’s December 1st. I’ll stick to the latter—I can’t possibly claim it’s autumn just days before Christmas! I guess the astrologers aren’t familiar with the Christmas carol “In the Bleak Midwinter.”
Anyway, here’s what’s filling my makeup bag this autumn. If you’re expecting the latest autumn beauty launches and warm-toned eyeshadows, you might be a bit let down. As usual, this video is a mix of old favorites and new finds without a specific theme. It’s simply what I’ve been using lately, which explains the “what’s in my makeup bag” title.
The products I used are listed below the video, but I encourage you to take a moment to watch it. And if you’re feeling nostalgic, you can always revisit past seasonal makeup bag videos.
