I recently went through my past “What’s In My Makeup Bag” posts and came across the Summer 2018 edition. If you don’t feel like going back to read it, here’s the main takeaway in a nutshell: a wonderfully cheerful and optimistic lipstick. I really should dig that lipstick out again since I’ve been sticking with pink-toned beiges for way too long. Maybe it’s time to try a coral lipstick favorites video to get ready for summer?
For now, though, I’m still using neutrals with a hint of rosiness on the cheeks—nothing too elaborate. Most of us are still dealing with lockdowns, and even those who aren’t might not be in the mood to celebrate. My focus is primarily on maintaining healthy-looking skin, using bronzer that blends seamlessly with my foundation, a touch of sunshine on top, and achieving a dewy finish for both eyes and lips.
When I say “lids and lips,” it does sound a bit odd to me—maybe it’s the repetitive sound of those words or the unintended implications. I need to keep my thoughts on track, perhaps hiring an editor would help. I imagine this editor as someone named Nigel, who smokes French cigarettes and wears a silk kimono in his Tottenham Court Road office.
Anyway, back to spring makeup. I made a video that you should really watch because I’ve run out of space here to discuss lipstick shades. The video covers everything, but if you want a quick summary without watching, just scroll down the page. Pay special attention to the double-bronzing technique I’m enjoying. First, a cream bronzer blends effortlessly into the foundation, creating a warm, duo-toned base, followed by a powder bronzer that dusts on top, giving a beautiful effect. I’m really into this technique lately for its lovely appearance.
