I’ve already highlighted this cleanser in my best beauty launches video, but Emma Hardie’s new Moringa Light Cleansing Gel deserves its own spotlight. It’s so remarkable that I think I might like it as much as – if not more than – the original Moringa Cleansing Balm. That’s saying a lot, considering I’ve praised the balm for years.
Let me recap a bit: the original Moringa Balm is one of the best cleansers out there. I reviewed it almost nine years ago and was amazed at how a cleanser could be so luxurious. It introduced me to truly indulgent beauty products that focus on fantastic formulas rather than just branding or packaging. You only need a small amount of the balm, which melts into a rich oil when massaged onto your skin, effectively removing dirt and makeup. It’s safe around the eyes and rinses off cleanly, but its exotic scent and lush texture are what truly win people over.
Cleansing with this balm feels like a professional treatment, far from my reality of a quick face wash in a chaotic bathroom. The balm leaves no residue; it breaks down with water, though I prefer using a warm cloth to wipe it off. It leaves my skin feeling plump and balanced.
Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm can be found online at major beauty retailers. It’s priced at £47 for 100ml, similar to the Elemis Rose Cleansing Balm but cheaper than the Darphin Aromatic. Yes, the price might deter some, but for those willing to invest, it often becomes a staple.
Now, about the new Moringa Light Cleansing Gel: it’s just launched and offers a light cleanse suitable for all skin types. It’s purifying and balancing, making it ideal for oily or sensitive skin without drying it out. I can confirm it delivers on these promises. This silky cleanser is lighter than the balm, so those with oily skin needn’t worry about heaviness.
The light cleansing gel is incredibly rich and concentrated, a pleasant surprise for a product marketed as a lighter alternative to the Moringa Balm. Its texture is a bit bouncy, akin to OSKIA’s Renaissance Balm or Pestle & Mortar’s gel cleanser, yet it maintains the luxury feel of a high-end facial massage. The divine scent is still here.
The Moringa Light Cleanser offers a luxurious experience suitable for all skin types. I might even switch to this version since the pump bottle is convenient and easy to travel with. It’s versatile without compromising texture or performance.
If you’re a fan of the original balm, give this new version a try. Even if the original didn’t appeal to you, you might still enjoy this one. It’s priced at £34 for 100ml and is currently exclusive to Marks and Spencer.
