Haircare is often the beauty category that disappoints me the most. I end up with tools I can’t use, “moisturizing” shampoos that make my hair feel like straw, and styling products that need professional blow-drying skills, which I definitely lack. So, when I discover hair products that actually work, I feel like celebrating and spreading the word. Fortunately, I can share my excitement on my blog instead of shouting from the rooftops.
The first amazing discovery is the Kerastase Blond Absolu Masque Cicaextreme. It’s more of a rediscovery, but I’m so glad I tried it again. It’s fantastic for bleached, damaged hair. As I rinsed it out, my hair felt incredibly smooth and almost weightless. After repeated use, I confirmed that it’s not just a one-time wonder. It gives my hair that luxurious, silky weight I’ve always wanted. Even hair stylists in different jobs and events commented on my hair’s condition.
Instead of using it as a mask, I just apply and rinse it within a few minutes. If you want to try it, here’s a tip: after shampooing, squeeze as much water out of your hair as you can. This helps the product stick better, so you can use less and still get great results. You can leave it on longer for better effects, but I usually only leave it for two minutes before rinsing.
Next on my list is the JVN Instant Recovery Serum. Though many talk about the Air Dry Cream, I find it too heavy for my fine hair. The serum is lighter and feels like a treatment rather than just a styling product. It gives a smooth finish without any oily residue. The jar packaging isn’t the most convenient, but I overlook it because the product is excellent. Available at Space NK in two sizes, the larger size is a better deal.
Lastly, a top pick for kids: Garnier’s Apricot No Tears Easy Detangling Solid Shampoo Bar. It comes in a simple cardboard box and is shaped like a lion’s paw. Just lather it in your hands or directly on the hair. I was worried it would dry out their hair, but thankfully, it detangled and cleaned well. It’s also great if you’re looking to reduce packaging waste in your kids’ haircare routine. Available at Boots for £7.99, it’s durable and lasts longer than expected. I’ll keep an eye on how it holds up over time.
