I can hardly believe we just had one of the best British summers in ages, yet I spent most of it cooped up in my office, staring at a computer screen! It’s now over, and I barely experienced it. On the bright side, I’m really excited about the arrival of autumn. It’s definitely the easiest season to dress for—not too cold, so you don’t have to layer up with tons of wool, but cool enough to wear nice coats and sweaters without getting odd looks when wearing light dresses on the subway. It’s a win-win situation.
You might have noticed that I’ve already started updating my “autumn wardrobe” (I’ve even posted about coats already) and during London Fashion Week, I’ve been popping into shops between shows, trying things on. When it comes to shopping, I can’t seem to get enough—I could shop forever!
Given my enthusiasm, Marks and Spencer asked me to put together an outfit from their new autumn collection, something perfect for this in-between weather before it gets really cold. I have to admit, picking just one look was tough—there were a few amazing faux fur jackets and some stunning pastel coats.
In the end, I settled on my favorite: a slightly oversized, masculine biker jacket in a wheat shade. It’s not a color I’d typically go for, but I think it looks fab, especially with the sleeves pushed up for a bit of attitude! Honestly, I would have never picked it from the online picture because it looked rather drab. But seeing it in the store changed my mind—it was love at first sight. If you check it out online, you’ll see what I mean. The coat is priced at £89 from the M&S Collection.
My second favorite find this month has to be the Tiger Tee. It’s super soft, flattering, and has a bit of a rock ‘n roll vibe. It’s priced at £17.50, but everything online has a 20% discount until midnight tonight. Sorry for those reading this via morning email—I wasn’t informed earlier! Still, the prices are great. With the discount, the coat is now £71.20. I’m also wearing Limited Edition Supersoft Jeggings in black. They’re as soft and comfy as promised, costing £29.50 or £23.60 before midnight.
Just a quick note: I’m wearing a size 8 coat, size 10 tee, and size 8 jeggings. I usually wear size 10 in other brands, so it seems their sizing runs a bit large. I hope this helps someone out there. Share your thoughts on my outfit in the comments!
