Taking a quick photo of your chest area by yourself is harder than you might think, especially with a flash and wearing a crop-top—it can get quite see-through. But for everyone here, drawn in by the less-than-sexy crop-top picture, I have what might be my best travel tip: wear a crop-top instead of a bra. This is mainly for the ladies; men generally don’t need one, unless you’re dealing with particularly significant moobs.
For the ladies, there’s really no reason to wear an uncomfortable underwired bra on a plane, especially for long-haul flights. I realized this a few weeks ago after years of struggling to sleep on planes with a bra poking me awkwardly. I questioned why I needed such support while lying down and then remembered the crop-top, that trusty garment from our younger days.
Instead of going completely bra-less, why not meet midway? Swap out your bra for something soft and non-wired, free of clasps, hooks, and those annoying strap adjusters that dig in. A crop-top, made of breathable cotton, may not lift you as high, but it keeps everything in place and makes sleeping on a plane so much more comfortable.
So, wear a crop-top when traveling. Once onboard, feel free to relax; if you’re in a tracksuit and slippers, great! You don’t have to board the plane like that—pack them in your carry-on and change later if needed. It might seem a bit inconvenient, but it’s worth it for a more pleasant flight.
