Wow, can we just take a moment to appreciate the effort put into designing these Guerlain Rouge G lipstick cases? I’ve always loved Rouge G for its clever slide-out lipstick and pop-up mirror. It’s so heavy that taking it on an EasyJet flight is out of the question unless you’re okay with just a pair of trainer socks and a silk headscarf in your carry-on. But for your daily handbag essentials, it’s just perfect.
I have some of the older versions, but Rogue G has had a complete revamp, and the new packaging is truly amazing. I didn’t think they could improve on the already beautiful, mirror-packed cases, but they did! Now, the new Rouge G has two mirrors in the lid—one for your lips and one for… well, whatever else you might need to check out!
The best part is that they now sell the case and lipstick separately, so you can refill your sturdy mirror case once the lipstick runs out. Luxury brands, take note: if your packaging is as weighty as a small planet, make sure it’s refillable. Create something that lasts a lifetime and feels like treasure so we can pass it on. Ideally, everything should be refillable, especially those hefty items you feel guilty about tossing away.
Kudos to Guerlain for this terrific upgrade. Not only is the iconic lipstick refillable, but the diverse range of case designs is so tempting, making them perfect for gift-giving. You can choose from sophisticated black croc-style to vibrant neon pink, giving plenty of options for any style or occasion.
Now you can give a beautiful gift: select the perfect lipstick shade and then match it with a chic Parure Gold case or a more casual Very Batik design. If you’re going for a bold fuchsia lip, try a hot pink Neon-ista case or a floral Gypsy Folk look. It’s a fantastic idea—a present that’s hefty, beautiful, and conceals an amazing lipstick inside. What’s not to love?
Surprisingly, it’s not as expensive as I thought. The cases, each boxed individually, are £14.50, and the lipstick refills, available in numerous shades with gorgeous textures and finishes, are £24.50. Though not cheap, the case is a gift that keeps giving, and about twenty pounds isn’t a bad deal for luxury lipstick.
Rouge G isn’t just a lipstick; it’s like makeup treasure. I love the notion of makeup becoming heirlooms that get passed down and appreciated as beautiful design pieces. Wouldn’t it be nice for things like these to last in our disposable world? Perhaps I’m being sentimental, but at least the case is something you can use forever. We need more makeup like this!
You can grab these stunning Rouge G cases and refills at various stores and online, with a full display at Guerlain’s website.
