Last week, I placed an order with Abercrombie & Fitch because the knees of my favorite skinny jeans finally gave out. Honestly, I’m starting to doubt if super skinny jeans are the right fit for me anymore, but they seem to be the only style stretchy enough for my shape, which changes almost every day since having a baby. So, I ended up buying a bunch more in the same style and size, along with some shirts, a vest top, a cashmere cardigan, and a few henley tops. These tops are part of a collection called Soft AF, which I initially thought stood for “Soft As Fck.” Later, I realized that AF was short for Abercrombie & Fitch.
I even went back to the website and it actually says Soft AF. Is this a clever play on words, or did they just not want to include the ampersand? It’s a bit surprising for a brand known for its wholesome, beach-loving image to use such a phrase. I can’t quite picture the Abercrombie & Fitch team brainstorming and deciding on “Soft AF” as a product name.
Then again, maybe they’re trying to be trendy. I get it; I’m pretty up-to-date with slang myself, which is how I knew what AF meant. Anyway, so you don’t get too bored reading this, here’s a suggestion: if you’re supposed to be doing something like creating a PowerPoint for work, you can just watch my video with the sound off, skipping every twenty seconds or so. It’ll give you an idea without risking your job. Plus, there are a few mild jokes in there for you, maybe a two or three out of five on the humor scale.
