Today I’ve got a delightful post about luxury accessories to celebrate the arrival of spring. It feels more like summer here in London, and I’m already slathered in sunscreen. This kind of mini heatwave really lifts the mood and inspires me to refresh my wardrobe with some vibrant new pieces for the season. Around this time each year, I like to add a pop of color to my mostly black, grey, and neutral clothing collection. During the colder months, my go-to outfits are mostly denim and knitwear. However, as the weather warms, I tend to incorporate brighter colors and patterns—just like the majority of women!
This year is a bit different because I’m not planning to invest much in summer outfits, thanks to my very pronounced baby bump, which I expect will be mostly gone in a few months. So instead, I’ve turned my attention to spring accessories—especially bags and shoes. My current fixation is on the Bayswater bag by Mulberry in a sunny Camomile yellow. It’s absolutely stunning, though it’s quite an indulgence!
This obsession with bags and shoes began when I discovered Very Exclusive, a new luxury shopping website. They showcase a fantastic selection of high-end brands but without the exorbitant prices you’d find at places like Net-a-Porter. I’ve fallen for the nude “K” bag by Karl Lagerfeld—it’s a perfect blend of classic and sporty styles. Another favorite is a chic little beige DKNY bag, though I’d definitely remove the metal logo tag on the side. It’s quite reasonably priced for such a stylish accessory.
Next up for my window shopping spree is LK Bennett. I haven’t found another brand that offers such comfortable shoes. They are always my go-to when I need to invest in a new pair. This season, they’ve got a stunning lineup! Some of my favorites include their Winnie Rope Sandals—ideal for pregnant, tired legs—and the flower-embellished Fiore court shoes. The Fiore style is incredibly comfy with a manageable heel height, and the floral detail adds a nice touch without being too over-the-top. They’re perfect for work and play, and they’d be a great choice for summer weddings, though they are quite a splurge!
Talking about LK Bennett bags, I’m totally in love with the Pearl Nappa Organiser Tote. It carries a “First Lady meets Lulu Guinness” vibe with a hint of “Bree from Desperate Housewives.” In short, it’s fabulous.
On a less glamorous note, I’m on the verge of buying a pair of Birkenstocks. I’ve never tried them before, but with my current physical state, practicality is winning over style. My assistant, Rach, swears they’re the most comfortable shoes out there, and I really hope she’s right. In the past, I’ve avoided them because they remind me too much of Crocs. Anyway, I’m considering the white “Arizona” Birkenstocks unless someone has a better suggestion. They’re priced at £49.50 on ASOS. There’s also a slightly more expensive version, and if anyone knows the difference, I’d appreciate the insight. Otherwise, I’ll likely choose the cheaper option.
Now I’m off to soak up some sun for a dose of Vitamin D. If you’re in the market for a classic pair of sunglasses, check out my Burberry post, and for SPF suggestions, my suncare recommendations are waiting for you.
