Remember that Edun dress I got from ASOS? The one I was unsure about? I decided to keep it, and it’s become a favorite! I wore it recently to the Chinawhite enclosure at the Henley Regatta. It was scorching hot, and even in my loose-fitting silk dress, I was really feeling the heat. My hair went limp and stuck to my neck, and my sunglasses almost melted. Despite the heat, some people were dressed in blazers, hats, and even three-piece suits!
Edun, interestingly, was founded by Ali Hewson, Bono’s wife, and they also founded NUDE skincare. Edun is great because they actively support trade in Africa and regularly check to ensure their employees are well-treated, which I really appreciate. Their clothes are well-made from high-quality fabrics. My mom, who knows her fabrics, was impressed by the fine silk of the dress.
I’m not sure if my dress is still available, but I got it from ASOS.com, where you can find other Edun items too. My clutch and shoes, the classic Idina peeptoe heels, are from LK Bennett.
Here’s a little mention of my delightful strawberries and cream dessert from lunch – classic English summertime food. I took a chance with my acne-prone skin by having all that cream, but sometimes you just have to test those waters in the name of, well, research! Lunch was really good; Chinawhite did an awesome job hosting their first Henley event. Apparently, the afterparty was spectacular! I had to leave early as I turn into a pumpkin at midnight, plus I needed to head north to visit my friend’s new baby.
