I finally discovered the perfect occasion for that luxurious silk Burberry trench coat I purchased a few years back in the States. I was persuaded to buy it by Sam from Pixiwoo, who has a knack for encouraging such indulgences. It made an excellent choice for my sister-in-law’s autumn wedding, offering a smart, tailored look that was just right for mingling outside. It was lightweight enough that I never felt the need to take it off, which was a bit of a pity since the Issa dress underneath was quite lovely. However, I adored how the trench emphasized my waist and gave me a flattering silhouette.
Now that I’ve worn it, I feel less anxious about using my trench coat. I used to be terrified of staining it or getting caught in the rain, so I kept it in a special wardrobe section with a trio of moth sachets around the hanger for protection. But now that I’ve overcome my fears with this Burberry piece, I expect I’ll wear it more often, as long as there’s no rain and I can find a way to protect it on the way to town.
