The Facial Radiance Intensive Peel from First Aid Beauty quickly became one of my go-to face masks for fast, noticeable results. This clay-based acid peel brightens, smooths, and gives an immediate glow, almost like unveiling a completely refreshed face.
While it’s not as drastic as a complete face change, you can definitely feel its renewing effects. If you’re new to acid peels, don’t worry too much. They typically contain AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids), which gently exfoliate the skin by removing dead cells and revealing newer ones underneath. These should be used carefully, of course, but they’re generally straightforward and safe if you follow the instructions.
This particular peel is very effective, thanks to a significant dose of lactic acid, which works in just a few minutes. It’s much more potent than liquid toner-like acids such as Alpha-H Liquid Gold or Pixi Glow Tonic. With those, you might experience a mild tingle, but this mask delivers a stronger sensation. You wouldn’t want to leave it on too long unless your skin is as tough as iron!
In trying the mask, even with my average skin sensitivity, I found it important not to exceed the recommended time. My skin isn’t overly sensitive, but it’s not like leather either. I suggest keeping this mask on for no more than five minutes. Personally, I leave it on for about three minutes to avoid discomfort. For beginners or those with sensitive skin, one minute is enough, while two minutes suits those looking for a nice glow without any redness.
The mask combines the deep-cleansing effects of clay with the refreshing feel of the acid peel. It’s like an ultimate skin makeover, delivering visible and tangible results in no time. It’s comparable to other quick-acting masks like Zelens Transformer or Peter Thomas Roth’s Pumpkin Enzyme Peel. If you’re dealing with a hangover, these are perfect for a fast face refresh.
This peel is affordable and great for revitalizing your skincare routine, but be cautious if your skin is sensitive or very dry. The acids can tingle strongly, and the clay may dry out already dry skin, although the mask isn’t on long enough to cause significant drying.
The best part about the Intensive Peel is its speed. If you dislike waiting for masks, this is ideal. However, if you prefer lingering in the bath while letting your mask work, this might not be the one for you—it works so quickly, you might forget it’s on!
If you prefer something even easier and milder, try an AHA liquid peel instead. First Aid Beauty also offers fantastic peel pads that are gentle and easy to use—just wipe on after cleansing and follow with serum and moisturizer. For a bit more oomph, Alpha-H’s Liquid Gold is a classic option for fresh, radiant skin.
Overall, the First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Intensive Peel is a quick and effective treatment for reviving your complexion.
