I’ve spent quite a bit of time this week hunting for the perfect winter sweaters online, buying them, trying them on, and returning most of them. This year, I’m looking for a sweater with a high neck (like a cowl neck or turtleneck) to draw attention away from my midsection. I also want it to have a chunky knit that feels and appears luxurious. Here are my top three picks:
Firstly, there’s the cable-knit cowl-neck sweater from New Look, priced at £34.99. It’s a fantastic deal because everything about it is chunky and I adore it—especially the big neck that’s perfect for hiding in (though you do need to arrange it properly, or it resembles a neck brace) and the oversized cable knit that makes it look much more expensive than it is. I’ve got it in medium.
Next is the contrast roll-neck from Hush, costing £99. Crafted from the softest wool, it’s the ideal cozy sweater, and my partner’s favorite because it apparently gives me a “punky” look, whatever that means. It pairs beautifully with black jeans and boots, making it a great, easy-to-wear knit for laid-back weekends.
Finally, there’s the Patchwork Roll Neck Sweater from Abercrombie & Fitch, priced at £78. It’s made from beautiful snowy wool, very soft, with a relaxed cowl neck that stays in place without fuss. It’s more fitted on the body than the others, which could be a pro or a con for you, but it’s definitely not tight. Comfortable and cozy, it even passes as a “Christmas Sweater” if you need it to for those occasions.
