If you’re looking to save money on skincare without sacrificing quality, I’ve found some fantastic budget-friendly cleansers that I use and repurchase regularly. I’ve defined “budget” as £10 and under for this list. While “budget” varies for everyone and cheaper options exist, I believe these products offer excellent value for the price.
I’ve selected five budget-friendly cleansers suitable for all skin types, whether your skin is oily, sensitive, or both. Although the packaging is more minimalistic compared to pricier cleansers, these formulations are effective, cleansing thoroughly without leaving your skin feeling tight or stripped.
1. The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser – Priced from £5.50, this cleanser is versatile enough for all skin types. It’s perfect if you prefer a single product that removes makeup, including eye makeup. It massages well into the skin and leaves it hydrated. This silky cream-to-oil texture is reminiscent of more expensive products and is my overall top pick.
2. Cerave Hydrating Cleanser – Available at £8, this cleanser is suitable for everyone and can be easily used by the whole family. It focuses on strengthening and protecting the skin barrier, making it ideal for sensitive skin. It comes in a large bottle perfect for the shower.
3. Superfacialist Rosehip Creamy Cleanser – Priced at £6, this rose-scented cream cleanser is one I’ve adored for years. It feels like an old-fashioned cold cream but comes conveniently packaged in a tube. For the best results, massage it in and remove with warm water and a washcloth for thorough cleansing.
4. Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm – Costing £8.79, this traditional balm has a thicker texture that’s excellent at removing eye makeup. Though it might seem too heavy for oily skin, it washes off cleanly with a cloth without leaving residue, making it suitable for all skin types, especially dry skin.
5. Aveeno Calm + Restore Oat Cleanser – At £5.30, this cleanser is great for sensitive skin. It can be rinsed off or used with a washcloth for added effectiveness. Highly recommended if your skin is oily yet sensitive, this cleanser offers a “fresh wash” texture without being harsh.
If you have any other budget-friendly cleanser suggestions, I’d love to hear them!
