Lately, I’ve been really into nude fashion and beauty. It’s such a refreshing and uplifting look for spring, even though it’s a bit more effort to maintain compared to black. Black is always classic, but nude can be just as chic—if you’ve got the courage to wear it. I tend to be pretty messy, though—as soon as I put on a light-colored top, I somehow end up with spaghetti sauce on it, or I’ll brush up against a freshly-painted wall, or get dirt on my sleeves while helping someone with their baby stroller.
Despite my knack for attracting messes, I’m really into nude accessories right now. Whether it’s a bag, purse, or belt, I somehow always manage to wear them in rainstorms, usually paired with dark jeans that aren’t dye-safe.
Here are some of the items that have caught my eye recently. On the top row, I’ve been checking out the Equipment Silk Shirt, which I’m torn about choosing between or the one with heart prints, Bobbi Brown Illuminating Powder, which gives a nice glow, and the Saint Laurent Quilted Envelope Clutch. I adore this clutch, but I’m questioning whether anyone can justify its high cost given its tiny size—it’s barely bigger than an iPhone.
On the bottom row, there’s the Coco Mademoiselle Touche de Parfum from Chanel, a lovely cashmere sweater in dreamy ice-cream shades from Hush, and the New Nudes lipstick from Marc Jacobs. The Equipment shirt and Hush sweater would look fantastic with my Karen Millen skirt. I just need to find some soft leather camel or nude pointed court shoes with a mid-heel. Maybe then I’ll finally stop just window shopping…
