When you’re looking for a new pair of trainers, you want to find the ones that stand out and are particularly stylish and fresh. White trainers, for example, are perfect because they complement everything, from summer maxi dresses to a good pair of blue jeans. Some people might think the popularity of styles like the Stan Smith has peaked and that white trainers are a bit overdone. In my opinion, as someone who’s been wearing Stan Smiths for the fifteen years I’ve been modeling, fashion trends don’t matter much. It’s the same with Converse; they’re just as rooted in fashion as denim or handbags.
Starting with Converse, the Chuck Taylor All Star in white is a true classic. Sure, they only look pristine for a couple of hours before you might step in a puddle, but toss them in the washing machine with some whitening detergent, and they’ll look great again. They’re available at ASOS for £45.
My personal favorites are the Stan Smiths by Adidas. I’ve owned over a dozen pairs and can’t imagine getting tired of them. Their shape and the subtle Adidas stripes on the sides are just perfect. You can find them easily on ASOS for £67, especially handy if you have Premier access.
Then there are the Gucci Ace Embroidered Low-Top Sneakers. They are just mesmerizing. The bee embroidery gives them a luxurious touch, reminiscent of those elegant slippers with embroidered designs worn by aristocrats. If you’re not into embellishments, you can also get these with just the plain Gucci stripe for £345.
For a non-leather option, consider Topshop’s lace-ups with a snakeskin finish. They’re not quite as sharp as others but are a great casual choice if you’re looking to save some money. Available online for £22.
If you’re aiming to go all out with a bit of detailing, Jimmy Choo’s Miami trainers in white and marble woven fabric are for you. The fabric resembles something Missoni might design, lending a bohemian flair to these otherwise sporty shoes. The gold star details around the lace holes and on the soles add an extra layer of sophistication. Priced at £350, they are definitely a luxury item.
